The first school to win the NCAA Tournament Championship was Oregon in 1939. They defeated Ohio State by a score of 46-33. The first NCAA Championship was played in Patten Gymnasium in Evanston, Illinois.
A fourteen year old boy stole the ball with which Wilt Chamberlain scored his 100th point in the game on March 3, 1962. After the game, the boy came up to congratulate Chamberlain, grabbed the ball, and ran out of the building. Chamberlain decided to let him keep it.
